What and how you will work:
This is a national role and can be performed from anywhere in Australia. The majority of the development team are located in Adelaide, so some travel will be required if not located in Adelaide.
Job DescriptionThe Role
The Solutions Designer- Data is responsible for defining the data architecture strategy, standards, and frameworks, which aim to maximise the value of data at Beyond Bank. We are on a journey to transform the way we leverage our data to enable us to be the best relationship Bank in Australia.
The current greenfield landscape provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to help forge the Data landscape from an architectural standpoint. This includes the strategic uplift of technology and operations across data platforms, data governance, data sharing, data security, and data modelling.
In the role you will
- Develop and maintain the enterprise data strategy, including data modelling, integration, warehousing, and governance. Document current ("as is") and future ("to be") processes, detailing the changes needed for migration.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable and sustainable data architecture solutions.
- Oversee the implementation of data architecture solutions, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and maintainable.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level data ingestion processes, data pipelines, and abstraction layers.
- Support the definition of data governance policies, including data quality, security, and lifecycle management.
- Design and optimise data infrastructure.
- Manage technology asset life-cycle management, planning, and alignment with relevant cross-functional product teams, procurement, and distribution.
- Run vendor selection processes (e.g., RFPs, RFIs) and support the process end-to-end to ensure favorable terms with vendors.
QualificationsAbout you
You will excel in translating complex business needs into effective technical solutions and managing challenging situations with composure. You have a strong background and experience in Data Warehouse/ETL and BI design, data architecture, data modeling, database design/development, data analysis, data profiling and implementation activities. You areare well-versed in cloud technologies, AI, and automation. You have exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, combined with experience in the financial services sector.
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields, with a focus on designing and developing scalable solutions.
- Proven experience in designing data ecosystems for AI and ML initiatives, including both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of Azure Cloud infrastructure
- Expertise in data modelling, data governance, and designing data solutions that comply with security and privacy regulations.
- Experience working with multiple data formats and integration methods, including JSON, XML, Parquet, and event-driven architectures.
- Proven experience in aligning technology strategy to business strategy
- Experience in the financial services sector is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, stakeholder management, and budget management skills.
