We house the only Lived Experience centre for First Nations peoples in the world. Skills and Experiences: Aboriginal And Torres Strait Island Lived Experience Centre The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Lived Experience Centre is the first of its kind and aims to build a network of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Lived Experience participants to enable mental health services to deliver culturally focused and safe Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led suicide prevention and mental wellbeing. Job Purpose This position is dedicated to facilitating the effective local operation of the Local Lived Experience Networks (LLEN) while providing proactive, practical, and efficient administrative support to the LLEN and the Coordinator - Local Lived Experience Network. Reporting to the National Network Manager for LLEN, the role is instrumental in fostering strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, advancing ILEC Mental Health and Suicide Prevention (MHSP) project initiatives, and driving engagement opportunities for LLEN members. Duties & ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination and Problem-Solving:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of MHSP project tasks, utilising problem-solving skills within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Local Lived Experience Network Framework.
  • Execute tasks with a high level of responsibility, maintaining quality, reliability, and confidentiality in all aspects of LLEN project delivery.

Collaboration and Facilitation:

  • Actively contribute to the ILEC team, working cohesively to achieve shared goals and support organisational initiatives. Through its emphasis on local facilitation, this position ensures the successful implementation of MHSP initiatives and the seamless collaboration between network stakeholders.
  • Assist with a variety of tasks beyond LLEN, as requested by Senior ILEC Management, showing versatility and a readiness to meet evolving organisational needs.

Administrative Coordination:

  • Ensure effective LLEN diary management and travel arrangements, particularly for LLEN-related activities, supporting smooth scheduling and logistical operations.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally and effectively, ensuring clear and courteous communication to support LLEN activities and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee LLEN meeting setups, including event scheduling, agenda development, document preparation, minute-taking, and tracking of action items, contributing to efficient meeting processes for LLEN and where required to ILEC teams.
  • Support efficient diary management and arrange necessary travel bookings for LLEN-related activities.
  • At the discretion of Senior Management, additional assistance maybe required in coordinating meeting and event logistics, including scheduling, agenda preparation, document distribution, minute-taking, and follow-up on action items for the LLEN and/or ILEC team.

  • Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Requirement: This position is designated for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, in alignment with occupational requirements.
  • Lived and Living Experience: Demonstrated ability to leverage personal lived and living experience to connect with and support diverse communities, fostering trust, empathy, and understanding.
  • Relevant Expertise and Educational Background: Demonstrated experience or education in a relevant field, showcasing foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel in the role.
  • Problem-Solving and Task Execution: Ability to manage moderately complex tasks and apply individual problem-solving skills while adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Accountability and Professional Judgement: Proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes with a strong sense of accountability and discretion, maintaining compliance with organisational standards.
  • Effective Communication and Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills, complemented by well-developed interpersonal abilities and proficiency in arithmetic to support professional interactions and teamwork.
  • Independent Work and Task Prioritisation: Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously or as part of a team, with excellent time management and task prioritisation skills within established guidelines.
  • Technical Skills and Digital Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in using computer systems, including a strong command of relevant software and tools to ensure task efficiency and effectiveness.
