Financial Accountant

We’re a cognitive science company on a mission to optimize the measurement of brain health to advance the development of new medicines and to enable earlier clinical insights in healthcare.

That’s why we’re seeking a Financial Accountant who will work and collaborate with finance and and the broader business. This newly created position reporting to the Finance Manager will provide invaluable support to the whole Finance Group whilst doing a range of activities including but not limited to those below, whilst ensuring compliance with formal statutory reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Completion of month end duties which includes:

• Fixed Assets
• Leases
• Prepayments
• Recording of labour time into financial systems
• Consultants cost accrual
• Commissions accrual
• Completion of monthly general ledger reconciliations

Additional Responsibilities include:

• Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Updating the Signed Contracts report.
• Directed by the Finance Manager in the writing of Accounting Policy Notes.
• Directed by the Finance Manager in the creation, maintenance and reporting of historical financial information.
• Assistance as required by the CFO and Financial Controller in the provision of Statutory and Management Reporting requirements.
• Assistance with the ongoing improvements to Finance processes and the Netsuite financial system.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree qualification
• CA/CPA qualification is required.

Experience

• Strong Financial Accounting skills
• A strong and experienced analytical mind
• At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role
• Ability to work independently
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing priorities
