Job Description

Posted on: April 3, 2025

Holmwoods is looking for a medior Full-stack Web Developer (.NET & Vue.js), with a focus on front-end development. You will get to work in a small team on creating and enhancing our new interactive classroom tool that is going to be used in schools worldwide.

The company

Holmwoods is an E-Learning publisher, providing educational courses for over 80,000 students in the Netherlands, Belgium and South America. We are an innovative company, always looking at new ways to create engaging, immersive, and impactful learning environments for students worldwide. Our mission is to make learning enjoyable and effective by leveraging the power of game-based education.

The job

We are looking for a talented and creative Medior Full-stack Web Developer to join our development team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing new features using the latest technologies. You will collaborate closely with the other developers, educators, and content creators to create innovative learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement features for our interactive web application using C#.NET for the backend and Vue.JS for the frontend
  • Collaborate with educators, content creators and designers to create the best user experience
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code while adhering to industry best practices
  • Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure code quality and standards
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in game development and educational technology

Skills

We are looking for someone who …

  • Has at least 4 years of real-world experience in web development
  • Has strong experience working with JavaScript, VueJS (or similar frameworks) and C# ASP.NET Core
  • Is familiar with Restful APIs and experience with integration
  • Has experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server or MySQL), preferably using EF Core
  • Is familiar with automated testing
  • Is comfortable making decisions about how to implement features
  • Produces clean, consistent and well-organized code
  • Is committed to professional development
  • Is eager to expand knowledge in emerging technologies
  • Is an Australian citizen or has a permanent resident visa (we are unable to provide visa sponsorship)

We will be extra impressed if you have …

  • Experience developing educational applications
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Experience with small teams
  • Passion for education and a commitment to creating impactful learning experiences

We offer

  • Competitive salary (AUD 100,000 – 120,000 per year)
  • Full time employment for a long-term relationship
  • Contribute on equal terms: speak your mind, show leadership
  • 100% remote work, so you can work anywhere you would like! A beach in the Bahamas, a mountaintop in New Zealand, or a hut in the Australian Outback, it is up to you (well, as long as you have an Internet connection). You are also welcome to join our office in Bulacan.
  • Flexible working times (if there is at least a couple of hours overlap with other team members located in the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Philippines)
  • Opportunity to work on innovative projects that make a difference in education
  • Collaborative and inclusive work environment with a diverse team of professionals. We are a company that finds a balance between work and private life important. We will not ask you to work long hours regularly.
  • Professional development opportunities and support for continuous learning

If you are passionate about leveraging technology to transform education and have a knack for creating compelling interactive experiences, we want to hear from you! Join us in shaping the future of learning through the power of games.
