Accounting Clerk at Hyatt House South Melbourne An exciting pre-opening opportunity exists for an Accounting Clerk to join our team at Hyatt House South Melbourne. This role offers the unique chance to be part of launching the Hyatt House brand in Australia, with the hotel scheduled to open at the beginning of 2025. As the Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for General Cashiering / Accounts Payable duties. Working in a small team, you will support the Hotel Accountant in ensuring the day to day operations as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose. - Help setting up processes during preopening phase
- Independently Monitor and control the Accounts Payable process
- Assist in distributing Invoices to the appropriate approver within the document system
- Assist to review, verify, code the invoice to the correct COA and ensure to meet all payment deadlines in compliance with hotel’s policies and procedures.
- Assist with month end closing tasks related to accounts payables.
- Working cohesively with offshore Shared Service Centre to ensure accuracy & efficiency of the finance functions.
- Counting and checking all funds remitted by all hotel cashiers
- Preparing and coordinating periodic banking to maintain a good cash flow
- Issue and return of all cashiers floats
Your Background To be successful in this role you will require the following attributes:
- Completed or currently studying Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting
- Previous work experience in a similar position will be of advantage
- A strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
- The ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Effective time management skills to achieve set deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
