About the role

Data is at the core of everything we do at January Capital – since our inception, we have leveraged proprietary datasets and tools with the goal of meeting the most promising founding teams at the earliest stage. As our ambition as a firm continues to grow, we are looking to further grow our capabilities in deploying AI driven data pipelines and workflows to expand on our existing data product strategy. This role will see you work alongside the firm’s investment team and you will be responsible for executing on the roadmap / go-forward technical strategy.

What we are looking for:

• Low-ego, high integrity.
• Minimum of Bachelors Degree in an analytical discipline (i.e. Engineering, Computer Science).
• 2-6+ years’ relevant full-stack experience within a hedge fund, quantitative financial services, or tier-one technology company setting, working in Data Science and/or Engineering teams.
• Strong experience in data architecture and modelling, software design, APIs / integrations and real-time data processing is integral to the success of this role. Specifically those who have implemented these in a complex and fast-moving product company or scale / start-up.
• Additional experience in product, artificial intelligence / machine learning and agentic workflows would be a bonus.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL/Graph databases
• Experience with big data frameworks - Hadoop, Spark, Flink
• Familiarity with solutions from cloud providers - AWS, GCP, Azure
• Candidates with experience in products that focus on human talent (i.e. recruitment, engagement, retention), and those which have significant data pipeline workflows will be prioritized. 
• Experience in lean, agile teams (i.e. at least 5 software engineers)
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including engaging with the senior leadership of January Capital as well as its portfolio companies, including but not limited to founders and CTO’s.
• For senior candidates – a demonstrated ability to craft and articulate a strategic vision for data products, coupled with proven experience in developing comprehensive product roadmaps and ensuring compliance of execution around timelines.
• Comfortable with moving quickly and taking projects from concept/wireframing stage through to deploying live platforms.
• Desire to do something meaningful and be part of the future of private markets technology.
