mx51 is a payments-as-a-service solution for banks, non-bank acquirers, and other merchant service providers. We are building a payment platform that allows merchants to accept payments in-store, in-app and online, whilst consolidating all their data on a real-time business management dashboard.

Join us at mx51 as our Senior People Manager, where you’ll have the exciting opportunity to shape and elevate our HR function! Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is all about driving meaningful change, building connections, and fostering an environment where employees thrive. You’ll lead HR initiatives across recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement, making a real impact on both our people and the business.

This role will be suited to a candidate based in Sydney or Melbourne.

A bit more on the detail of your responsibilities:

  • Strategic Partnership: Work closely with business leaders to design and implement people strategies that propel our team and organisation forward.
  • Operational Excellence: Lead HR programs, policies, and processes with a strong focus on compliance and best practices, supporting managers to create a productive, engaging workplace.
  • Talent Champion: Oversee the entire recruitment process, from sourcing to onboarding, ensuring a positive and personalised candidate journey that showcases our culture.
  • Employee Development & Engagement: Inspire managers and employees with effective performance management practices, growth plans, and development opportunities that promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • People Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, championing fair resolutions and positive outcomes in areas like conflict resolution and performance coaching.
  • Insights-Driven HR: Leverage HR data and metrics to make smart, impactful decisions that evolve our people strategy and improve the employee experience.
  • Engagement & Culture Initiatives: Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention, creating an inclusive and empowering workplace.
  • Learning & Development: Lead skill-building and career progression programs that support growth and development at all levels.
  • Digital-First HR: Use advanced HR tech tools like Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, BambooHR, Culture Amp, and Go1 to streamline recruitment, engagement, and performance processes.

What we’d love to see in an applicant:

  • You bring broad HR expertise and thrive in a start-up/scale-up setting, adapting seamlessly to change and seeing ambiguity as a chance to innovate.
  • Skilled at partnering with leaders and fostering meaningful relationships, you have a knack for understanding business needs and making impactful HR decisions.
  • You know HR policies and employment legislation inside out and are always seeking to improve and streamline processes.
  • You’re comfortable diving into data, providing insights that inform decisions, and enhancing the effectiveness of HR programs.
  • Ideally, you have experience in recruiting technical talent in Software Engineering, IT, and Product, and you’re passionate about delivering exceptional candidate experiences.
