Linux Engineer

As a Linux Engineer, you will be working with a medium-sized MSP with 50+ brilliant people, focusing on large-scale enterprise clients and working with Linux in a secure environment at scale.

Location: Remote (must be in Australia) with full Australian working rights

Salary: $120k – $140k + Superannuation

What you will bring:

You are passionate about Linux both inside and outside of work and constantly strive to grow and learn the latest technologies. You have demonstrated experience supporting both on-prem and cloud environments with a good understanding of Linux and automation. You have a passion for helping customers resolve technical issues.

Skills and Experience:

• 5–7+ years of experience in IT technical roles focused on Linux engineering or systems administration.
• Good exposure to scripting and automation in Linux tools, with a specific focus on monitoring and deployment. Experience leveraging any of the following technologies: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform.
• Good exposure to virtualisation such as VMware ESXi, Linux KVM and container environments such docker.
• Solid Linux administration skills with proficiency in either RedHat, Ubuntu, or equivalent.
• Experience working ideally in hybrid and cloud-native environments. Strong cloud administrative experience is highly regarded; any exposure to Oracle Cloud is a plus but not required.
• Good experience collaborating with DevOps, security, and cloud engineering teams for system improvements and changes, and maintaining effective documentation.
• Good conceptual networking knowledge across VLANs, subnets, routing, and firewall policies.
• Certifications in Linux (e.g., RHCE or equivalent) are highly regarded.
