Machine Learning Specialist

At Stomble we're an exciting startup looking for a highly experienced machine learning engineer to join our team. We are a small startup bootstrapping our way forward with a group of eager engineers and designers already with a high level of ambition to build and deliver our MVP product to the world.

Stomble is creating, developing and building infrastructure that will eventually support small businesses to have more control over their business by building solutions to solve their most difficult and complex problems. Our mission is to use innovative solutions to increase economic opportunity. We are building a data analytics infrastructure that is powered by AI.

We're looking for a highly skilled engineer or lead, who is willing to join and/or help a small scrappy startup, who has experienced everything that we are going through, going to face and potential upcoming pitfalls by lending their advice or skills to our project. Our goal is to be a world class company, with working class knowledge and the ability to tackle all problems head-on.

Why are we looking for an experienced person?

We are opening ourselves up to someone willing donate their time, knowledge and skills to help us learn, grow and develop our incredible product from an idea into a competitive platform that competes at the highest levels and has the pulling power to entice the smartest people to join our mission and vision. In addition, we have struggled to get our product off the ground due to internal problems and we would be looking for experienced people to join our small scrappy startup to help solve those problems and to give us the best chances at success.

What you'll do

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to drive and enable business performance by delivering observability and insights for our company. You'll work cross-functionally with our engineering and stakeholders to help build and deliver key insights into driving our product forwards. Some of the tasks that you'll be facilitating us to achieve are to work with our data team and stakeholders to work with the data collected, design algorithms and train the data to achieve a successful outcome. We will encourage you to test your hypothesis, solve complex problems and work alongside our current ML engineer to achieve internal goals. In addition, it would be an internal goal for us to encourage you to be innovative and work on interesting projects that interests you.

Responsibilities:

• Data engineering experience will be highly desirable.
• Experience with cloud technologies and architectural practices to enhance tooling across ML model development lifecycle.
• Drive the design, development, and implementation of tools, systems, and processes that accelerate engineering velocity, reduce manual effort, and increase the quality of output.
• Has knowledge of ML libraries such as sklearn, keras, and arima.
• Proficient in python.
• Demonstrated proficiency with JavasScript, React, and other web technologies.

The successful candidates will have:

• Have experience as an engineer in an agile environment and product-driven company.
• A desire to voracious and intrinsic desire to learn and fill missing skills.
• Are comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions. You view change as an opportunity to add structure and order when necessary.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, a self-starter that can work apart of a team to deliver solutions.
• Must be driven to build tools to improve the lives of small businesses and entrepreneurs.
• Have worked on a project from scratch previously.
